Cat in Hat

There's a tale in Russian literature for kids about a kitten under a hat. It's called The Living hat. Two boys were playing in the room when suddenly they noticed a hat on the floor. To their surprise, the hat began to move! The boys got really scared. They decided to throw potatoes at it to get it away. When a potato hit the target, the hat suddenly meow'd. There was a kitten under it. The hat just fell on it.

(Not very funny for the kitty, though)
